Donate now to Drive Out Dementia
Thank you for supporting Drive Out Dementia, an event initiated by The Dementia Momentum Spokesman, Richard Grellman AM, whose wife Suellen was formally diagnosed with young onset Alzheimer’s disease at only 61 years of age. Drive Out Dementia is a one day event where invited drivers have an exclusive opportunity to test their driving prowess and capabilities of their prestige vehicles on a purpose-built 5km private road located one hour near of Sydney. It is a one day event where drivers have a qualified co-pilot assisting them safely master lines around a driving nirvana.
Dementia is now the second leading cause of death in Australia and 244 new cases are diagnosed every single day.
The impact of dementia is devastating socially and economically, with the Australian cost estimated to exceed $14 billion in 2017 alone.
Together, we can help change the future of dementia incidence.
$5,000 will support a research assistant to perform large-scale, statistical analyses of international neurocognitive data to identify universal and demographic-specific risk factors.
$10,000 will support plasma studies to detect novel biomarkers associated with dementia.
$20,000 will support comparison of statistical and neuroimaging data to identify brain changes associated with early diagnosis of dementia.
Drive Out Dementia is one of the campaigns of The Dementia Momentum initiative, CHeBA’s movement to bring researchers and the corporate and philanthropic community together to improve the future of dementia incidence through awareness, research and societal change.
