The EE&T Class of '85 Endowed Scholarship

Please support the establishment of an equity scholarship in perpetuity. Our vision is for this scholarship to support a student from a marginalised background to study Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications at UNSW.

The EE&T Class of 85 Endowed Scholarship will support the student for the duration of their degree to the tune of $5,000 per annum. The wonderful news is Professor Julien Epps has authorised for the School to match up to a total of $60,000 which will greatly assist us in reaching our minimum goal of $125,000 by the end of 2023.

All gifts over $2 are tax-deductible and 100% of your gift is directed to this scholarship. Our primary goal is to be able to introduce the inaugural recipient at the 30 year reunion in 2025, noting the endowment must ‘rest’ for 12 months. The more we raise, the more we can help students get a first-class education here at UNSW.

Over the course of the last 70 years, UNSW’s School of Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications has grown from a purely teaching institution to one which has also made important contributions to the development of electrical engineering in Australia and globally. As Head of School, I’m incredibly grateful to EE&T’s Class of ’85 alumni for coming together to raise the funds needed to establish an equity scholarship in perpetuity. We aim to address the disparity in academic attainment that is directly linked to socio-economic status, and ensure all students have the opportunity to access the benefits that flow from a university education. So thank you, Class of ’85 for helping us to achieve this ambitious vision.

Professor Julien Epps
Head of School (EE&T)
