Beach Safety Research

Beach safety research involves multi-disciplinary approaches to improve understanding of issues related to coastal safety including physical and social science, public health, psychology, and science communication methods. The ultimate goal of this research is to save lives.

UNSW researchers across several UNSW faculties are committed to training the next generation of beach safety and drowning prevention researchers.

To make that happen, we accept charitable tax-deductible donations to support research and student training. Donations help fund a variety of research activities, from collecting data, supporting analysis and conducting field experiments, to hosting workshops and collaborating with lifeguards and beach safety managers to advance evidence-based coastal safety initiatives.
