Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA)

Thank you for your interest in supporting CHeBA’s research.

Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are reaching epidemic proportions in Australia and internationally. With an ageing population and at least half of the people in Australian nursing homes with dementia, we need high level research to facilitate long-term change. The Directors of CHeBA, Professor Perminder Sachdev and Professor Henry Brodaty, are internationally recognised for their contribution to research in brain ageing.

Funding is desperately required to advance our research in ways to prevent cognitive decline, improve cognitive functioning as we age, devise better care for people with dementia and to diagnose people at risk for dementia. CHeBA’s researchers are also working on developing markers of early decline in memory and other functioning, so that brain diseases may be detected before the manifestation of dementia.

With your support, we can reduce the suffering caused by dementia and work toward healthy brain ageing for all individuals.
