Help us make a difference by making a donation which will support future optometrists who are experiencing disadvantage and hardship.
Our mission is to advance vision and eye health in society through world-class, innovative, multi-disciplinary education and research.
UNSW Sydney School of Optometry and Vision Science believe that all students should have equal opportunity to learn and excel in their craft. However, the burden of costs associated with living and studying optometry (e.g., purchasing equipment and clinical placement costs) can potentially inhibit students in excelling in higher education.
The goal of this fund is to provide financial support to optometry students:
- from rural or remote areas
- who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students
- from low socio-economic backgrounds
- with disability
- experiencing other forms of hardship
Our goal is to have 5 Grants in Aid to purchase equipment in 4th year estimated and to provide up to 10 Bursaries for travel to rural, interstate or overseas placements each year.
