As CEO of the Business Council of Australia, Dr Jennifer Westacott AO has championed meaningful policies that have strengthened the ability of businesses to grow the economy for the benefit of all Australians. 

Jennifer has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Business Council of Australia since 2011. She brings to the role an unrivalled understanding of how the public and private sectors intersect and can work together to achieve the best outcomes in the national interest.  

As CEO, she has championed a number of positive shifts through Australian industry such as social reforms to protect the rights of the LGBTQI community, safer working conditions, an increase in Newstart allowance for the unemployed, and influencing policy around company tax. 

Jennifer built her career in the public sector, working in senior leadership positions in the New South Wales and Victorian governments across housing, education, and infrastructure, planning and natural resources. As a senior partner at KPMG, Jennifer advised major corporations on climate change and sustainability and advised governments across Australia on significant reform priorities.  

Since 2013, Jennifer has served as the Chair of the Mental Health Council of Australia and is a Non-Executive Director of Wesfarmers Limited. In 2018, she was made an Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia.
